Broncos Get Encouraging MRI News on Surtain and Bryant, Moss Injury Not Believed Long Term
Denver coach Sean Payton gave no timetable Monday for Pat Surtain, Pat Bryant and Riley Moss, but reports cited by Broncos Wire said MRIs avoided worst-case outcomes, with Surtain week-to-week, Bryant out a few weeks and Moss not believed to face a long absence.
Denver avoided the worst outcomes on a trio of injuries from Sunday, but all three players could still miss time, according to Broncos Wire.
Head coach Sean Payton offered no firm timetable during his Monday call with reporters, saying the team would wait for its Wednesday practice and injury report. Cornerback Pat Surtain and wide receiver Pat Bryant are both dealing with ankle injuries, while cornerback Riley Moss is dealing with a rib issue, according to Broncos Wire.
Short-term absences expected
Citing ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Broncos Wire reported Surtain is considered week-to-week, with the team bracing for an absence of about two weeks. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Bryant is expected to miss a few weeks with a sprained ankle, according to Broncos Wire. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later reported MRI results were encouraging for both players, with short-term absences expected, according to Broncos Wire.
For Moss, Rapoport reported the injury does not appear to be a broken rib and that further testing was planned for Monday, while 9News’ Mike Klis described the issue as not long term, according to Broncos Wire.
