Charli xcx has booked her next acting role. Variety reported Thursday that the 34-year-old “Brat” singer has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming gothic psychological horror film “What Happens at Night,” in a cameo appearance.
The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as a married American couple who travel to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby. As the couple struggles to claim the child, the two come to know less about themselves, according to the film’s synopsis as described by Variety. Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson and Jared Harris also appear in the cast.
A growing acting career
Charli xcx has been building a film career in recent years. She starred in the mockumentary “The Moment,” released earlier this year, and has appeared in “I Want Your Sex,” “The Gallerist,” “Faces of Death” and “Sacrifice.” In an interview earlier this year, she said she wanted to take on more acting work.
Scorsese’s latest film
