Russian Strikes Kill 8 and Injure 51 Across Ukraine as Ukrainian Attack Kills 3 in Belgorod Region
Russia launched 153 drones at Ukraine overnight, hitting a Vinnytsia apartment building and targets in several regions, while a Ukrainian drone attack on Belgorod killed three people and injured 14, according to Reuters.
Russian strikes killed eight people and injured 51 across Ukraine over the past day, local authorities said, while a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Belgorod region killed three people and injured 14, according to Reuters.

Russia launched 153 Shahed-type drones at Ukraine overnight on Oct. 25, including 92 jet-powered drones, plus low-cost Banderol cruise missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force said, according to the Kyiv Independent. Air defenses shot down 119 drones, including 64 jet-powered ones. Drones that got through hit 15 locations, and falling debris was recorded at nine other places.
Vinnytsia apartment building hit
A Russian drone struck a five-story residential building in Vinnytsia overnight on Oct. 25, injuring six people, one of whom was hospitalized, according to Nataliia Zabolotna, head of the Vinnytsia Oblast Military Administration. The strike caused damage between the second and third floors, destroyed four apartments, and damaged parked cars nearby.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, three people were killed and 14 injured in Synelnykove District on Oct. 24, including an 11-year-old girl, according to Governor Oleksandr Hanzha. In Nikopol District, two women were killed and five people injured, including a 14-year-old boy. In Kharkiv Oblast, one man was killed in Lozova and several more people were injured in Kharkiv city, Derhachi and Mala Danylivka, according to Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
Belgorod and a disputed cargo claim
An overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the city of Belgorod, near the Russian border, killed two people and injured 13, Belgorod regional Governor Alexander Shuvayev said, according to Reuters. The attack damaged 30 apartment blocks, 35 cars, four houses and several shops and offices, he said. Another person was killed and one injured in a village near Shebekino.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its drones struck a cargo vessel bound for the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk during the overnight attack, claiming the vessel was being used to supply the Ukrainian army. The ministry also said Russian forces hit a logistics center, a distribution center and a logistics terminal in Kharkiv, claiming the sites stored dual-use cargo for Ukraine’s military. Reuters said it could not independently verify the ministry’s claims.

The exchange came as both sides continue near-daily long-range strikes, with Ukraine’s air force warning that jet-powered drones fly faster than the propeller-driven versions Russia has used for most of the war, making them harder to intercept.
