Head coach Emma Hayes named a 26-player roster for the two matches, though defender Naomi Girma and midfielder Sam Coffey withdrew because of injuries, according to USA TODAY. The available squad still includes the front line of Trinity Rodman, Sophia Wilson and Mallory Swanson.

According to the report, the United States and Spain have met four times, with the U.S. winning three of those matches; Spain won the most recent meeting, 2-0 in October 2022. With the 2027 World Cup about nine months away, according to USA TODAY, the two games give the Americans a test against the reigning champion before World Cup qualifying begins later this year.
