Amos Kipruto and Hawi Feysa Win 2026 Chicago Marathon Titles

Kenya's Amos Kipruto ran 2:01:09 to win the men's race and Ethiopia's Hawi Feysa took the women's title in 2:13:33 at the 2026 Chicago Marathon on Sunday.

Amos Kipruto of Kenya won the men’s race at the 2026 Chicago Marathon on Sunday in 2:01:09, and Ethiopia’s Hawi Feysa captured the women’s title in 2:13:33, according to results published by NBC Sports.

Kipruto held off a strong Ethiopian challenge, with Tadese Bikila finishing second in 2:02:56 and Milkesa Mengesha third in 2:03:46. Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo was fourth in 2:04:18. The leading American, Clayton Young, placed seventh in 2:05:23, followed by Charles Hicks in eighth at 2:05:35, Vincent Mauri in tenth at 2:06:45 and Galen Rupp in eleventh at 2:06:55.

Feysa leads a fast women’s field

Feysa’s 2:13:33 was enough to top a deep women’s field. Kenya’s Sharon Lokedi finished second in 2:14:07, with countrywoman and former world record holder Brigid Kosgei third in 2:14:55. Mary Ngugi-Cooper of Kenya was fourth in 2:17:23.

The top American woman was Emma Grace Hurley, seventh in 2:20:47, while Dakotah Popehn finished twelfth in 2:24:00.

Wheelchair races

In the wheelchair divisions, Switzerland swept both titles. Marcel Hug won the men’s race in 1:21:34, ahead of Lito Anker of the Netherlands and Britain’s David Weir, both timed at 1:30:11. Catherine Debrunner of Switzerland won the women’s race in 1:33:16, with American Tatyana McFadden second in 1:42:01.
