Apple Unveils $299 HomeView Smart Display, HomePod Mini 2 and New Apple TV 4K

Apple on Tuesday announced its first full smart home lineup in years: a $299 HomeView smart display shipping Nov. 13, a $149 HomePod mini 2 arriving Oct. 30, a $299 Apple TV 4K with the A19 chip, and cameras, locks and thermostats built with LG and Schneider Electric.

Apple on Tuesday unveiled its first full smart home lineup in years, announcing a $299 smart display called HomeView, a second-generation HomePod mini, a new Apple TV 4K and a line of connected-home accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

The announcements came at an invite-only “Welcome Home” media event in New York and in Apple’s online materials the same day, according to TechRepublic and Uristocrat, which covered the event. The event was not a traditional keynote livestream; Apple paired a coordinated web announcement with the in-person gathering.

The lineup’s main device is HomeView, a 7-inch Liquid Retina display built around Siri AI, with FaceTime, entertainment apps and smart home controls. It recognizes up to six household members by face, giving each person a personalized home screen, and it can show security camera feeds and handle Siri AI requests. Personalized requests drawing on Messages, Calendar and other app data require pairing with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad.

The company offers two versions, both priced at $299: a tabletop model in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, and a wall-mounted version in space gray and silver, with Schneider Home mounts starting at $59.95. Both become available Nov. 13. HomeView will not initially be sold in the European Union, where Apple says Siri AI remains unavailable in iOS.

HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K

The HomePod mini 2 costs $149, uses Apple’s S10 chip and comes in pink, green, blue, white and midnight. It supports stereo pairing, multiroom audio and smart home controls, and arrives Oct. 30. But Siri AI will not be available on the speaker at launch: Apple says the feature will arrive through a future software update, initially in English in selected markets including the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the U.K. The company has not given a date for that update.

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, also $299 and arriving Nov. 13, introduces Apple’s A19 chip, which Apple says provides up to 50% faster CPU performance and twice the GPU performance of the previous generation. It adds a conversational Siri AI assistant, three far-field microphones for hands-free voice control, a Siri Remote with Precision Finding, and support for a four-speaker surround setup with compatible HomePods. Apple also says Siri AI will arrive as a beta on second-generation or later Apple TV 4K models, subject to device and regional requirements.

Cameras, locks and thermostats

The Apple Home Collection, developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, covers security cameras, a video doorbell, a smart lock, thermostats and environmental sensors, priced from $39.95 for a temperature sensor to $399.95 for an LG floodlight camera. The accessories start arriving in December, with selected products delayed until early 2027.

Every device sets up with a single tap on an iPhone through the Apple Home app, with no separate manufacturer account, according to Apple. The cameras capture up to 2.5K resolution and store footage in a supported iCloud+ plan, which removes the need for a separate camera subscription; Apple says buyers get 10 days of encrypted video history. The smart deadbolt uses Ultra Wideband technology to unlock as the user approaches.
