Davante Adams Out 6-10 Weeks as Rams Absorb Four Major Injuries in Loss to Cardinals

The Los Angeles Rams lost wide receiver Davante Adams to a ruptured hamstring and nose tackle Poona Ford to a ruptured triceps on Monday, while kicker Blake Grupe and defensive end Kobie Turner also went down, following Sunday’s 18-16 loss to Arizona.

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Rams’ injury crisis deepened Monday when coach Sean McVay announced four major injuries coming out of Sunday’s 18-16 home loss to the Arizona Cardinals, headlined by wide receiver Davante Adams rupturing his hamstring and missing six to 10 weeks.

Injury list from the Cardinals game

Adams pulled up with a non-contact injury in the fourth quarter while running a route and limped to the sideline. The wideout has 30 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns this season, according to NBC Sports.

McVay also said nose tackle Poona Ford will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his triceps on Sunday. Defensive end Kobie Turner sustained a groin strain and is expected to miss “a handful of weeks”; McVay indicated Turner is likely headed to injured reserve, with the team planning to use one of its IR return designations on him.

Kicker Blake Grupe, acquired last week, tore his ACL while attempting to tackle Cardinals kick returner Devin Durenay in the first quarter. He was placed on injured reserve Monday afternoon, and McVay said the team is “working on some different options” and expects to have something in place within a day or two.

Grupe posted on social media Monday that he had no choice “other than to attack rehab and come back stronger and more prepared than ever.”

Cornerback Trent McDuffie (groin) is “progressing,” McVay said, with his status for Sunday’s road game against the Raiders to be determined at the end of the week. Outside linebacker Myles Garrett (knee) will not return to practice this week; he has been on injured reserve since Sept. 17.

The Rams’ next four games run through what should have been a manageable stretch: at the Raiders, home against the Chargers, at the Commanders, and at the Cardinals. At 2-4 and last in the NFC West, they will now have to get through it without their top wide receiver and with a defensive line patched by absences.
