Eagles Rule Out Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley for Sunday’s Game Against Panthers
Philadelphia will be without its starting quarterback and its top three running backs for Sunday's Week 6 game against Carolina, with Tanner McKee set to start after Jalen Hurts was ruled out with a blood clot.
The Philadelphia Eagles will play Sunday’s Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers without quarterback Jalen Hurts and without their top three running backs, the team confirmed on Friday.

Hurts was ruled out on Friday because of a blood clot. The Eagles also ruled out running backs Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley, and placed Shipley on injured reserve, keeping him out for at least four games.
With the three backs sidelined, Dameon Pierce is expected to carry most of the load on the ground.
Tanner McKee set to start
With Hurts out and backup Andy Dalton waived a week ago, Tanner McKee is expected to start at quarterback. The other two quarterbacks on the roster are rookie Cole Payton and Joe Milton III, whom the team signed off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad. The three quarterbacks have two combined starts in the NFL.
There was one encouraging sign for Hurts on Saturday. According to For The Win, the Eagles appear confident the quarterback will return sooner rather than later, and he is not expected to go on injured reserve.

More outs, and some good news
Safety Michael Carter was ruled out with an abdominal injury, and linebacker Jalyx Hunt will miss the game with knee and ankle injuries. It will be the first game this season missed by either player.
On the other hand, Philadelphia could get Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson back. He is designated to return and is listed as questionable. Wide receivers Devonta Smith and Marquise Brown carry no injury designation.
