No. 2 Georgia Faces Alabama in Primetime Top-10 Showdown With Isaias Remnants Looming Over Tuscaloosa

Two unbeaten SEC powers meet Saturday night as No. 2 Georgia travels to face Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, with lingering rain from Isaias a possible factor.

No. 2 Georgia and Alabama — both 5-0 and 3-0 in SEC play — meet Saturday night in Tuscaloosa in the biggest game of college football’s Week 6 slate, a primetime top-10 showdown between two national championship contenders with lingering effects from Hurricane Isaias possibly in play.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT) at Bryant-Denny Stadium, televised nationally on ABC with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit on the call and Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge reporting from the sidelines. An alternate “SkyCast” presentation airs on SEC Network. Oddsmakers have Alabama as a 1.5-point favorite, while a seven-member USA TODAY Sports panel is split, with four of the seven picking the Crimson Tide.

Two elite offenses collide

Georgia owns the country’s top scoring offense at 51.4 points per game, and the Bulldogs have won their five games by an average of 38 points. Alabama’s offense is led by sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell, and the Crimson Tide have not lost to Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium in almost 20 years.

The SEC powers split last season’s series: Alabama won 24-21 at Georgia on Sept. 27, 2025, before Georgia earned revenge with a 28-7 win in the SEC championship. Both teams made the College Football Playoff last season and bowed out in the quarterfinals.

Storm could be a factor

Tuscaloosa sits in the path of the remnants of Hurricane Isaias, which moved inland through Alabama on Saturday, and conditions could become a factor, according to College Sports Wire’s live coverage of Week 6. As of Saturday, the game remained on as scheduled.

Elsewhere on Saturday’s slate, the Red River Rivalry pits Oklahoma against No. 1 Texas, and a ranked UCLA squad faces its first major test of the season on the road against an Oregon team looking to stay in the College Football Playoff race.
