Ohio State Ends Indiana’s 22-Game Win Streak With 19-15 Win in Bloomington
A toe out of bounds on a fourth-down catch ended Indiana's comeback bid, and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin left with an arm injury that coach Ryan Day said will sideline him several weeks.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — No. 5 Ohio State survived a late scare Saturday to beat No. 4 Indiana 19-15 at Memorial Stadium, ending the Hoosiers’ 22-game winning streak and gaining revenge for last season’s Big Ten championship loss.

The finish came down to inches. With less than two minutes left, Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover found a wide-open Nick Marsh for what would have been a go-ahead touchdown on fourth down, but Marsh’s foot landed out of bounds. The play became a turnover on downs, and Ohio State backup quarterback Luke Fahey took a knee to close out the win.

Indiana coach Curt Cignetti called the near-miss “hard to swallow.” “We just didn’t make it happen,” he said after the game. “It’s a hard one to swallow. Learn from it and move on.” Hoover completed 20 of 40 passes for 296 yards with a touchdown and a fumble while playing through what appeared to be an injury of his own.
Sayin leaves with an arm injury

Ohio State closed the game without its starting quarterback. Julian Sayin took a big hit in the fourth quarter, left for the locker room, and returned to the sideline with a sling on his throwing arm. After the game, coach Ryan Day said Sayin will miss “several weeks.”
True freshman Luke Fahey finished the game in Sayin’s place. Before the injury, Sayin completed 15 of 29 passes for 235 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, including a 38-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Smith on fourth down in the fourth quarter that put Ohio State ahead 19-7.

Indiana answered with a 28-yard touchdown from Hoover to Marsh and a two-point conversion, cutting the lead to 19-15 with 10:30 left, but never reached the end zone again.
Defense and special teams decide it
Ohio State’s defense shut down Indiana’s run game and forced three turnovers: Amare Ferrell intercepted Sayin twice, and Jaylen McClain sacked Hoover to force a fumble. The Buckeyes led 10-7 at halftime after a 15-play, 80-yard drive that ended in a Bo Jackson touchdown catch.
Ohio State settled for field goals early, with Connor Hawkins converting from 26 and 29 yards, while Indiana’s Niko Radicic missed a 32-yard attempt off the upright and a 55-yard try in the third quarter.
