SALEM, Ore. — Video shared Saturday shows a confrontation between anti-ICE protesters and federal immigration agents in a Salem, Oregon, parking lot, where a protester swung a baseball bat and knocked the side-view mirror off a black federal vehicle, according to the New York Post.
The footage, posted by Post Millennial journalist Katie Daviscourt, shows demonstrators shouting and sounding horns as they attempted to block the agents’ vehicles, according to the Post. Agents responded with tear gas and other crowd-control measures, the Post reported, citing Daviscourt.
Footage from Friday also circulates
Daviscourt also shared footage from a separate Friday confrontation, according to the Post, including a clip first posted by the activist network stopice.net in which a protester appeared to grab an agent by the neck and throw a punch before being sprayed with what appeared to be tear gas or mace.
In her posts, Daviscourt wrote that activists had been tracking ICE agents’ locations and interfering with operations as the agency increased activity in Oregon, according to the Post. ICE did not immediately return a request for comment, the Post reported.
