Selma Blair Arrested After Delta Flight Incident Left Two Flight Attendants Injured, 911 Audio Reveals

The 'Legally Blonde' actress was arrested at JFK Airport after allegedly trying to open an airplane door mid-flight and clashing with crew members; two flight attendants were hurt, and the FBI is now investigating.

Selma Blair was arrested and hit with federal assault charges after an incident aboard Delta flight 938 from Los Angeles to New York on Sunday, during which the actress allegedly tried to open the plane’s door mid-flight and left two flight attendants injured, according to Page Six.

In 911 dispatch audio obtained by TMZ, the pilot is heard requesting medical personnel at the gate for two flight attendants, describing “a bloody nose as well as some bite marks.” The pilot said the “disruptive passenger” had also “bashed her head on the bulkhead,” according to the audio, and declined ambulances, saying medical personnel at the gate would be enough.

Port Authority police responded at about 11 p.m. Sunday at JFK Airport after the plane was parked at the gate following its arrival from LAX, according to sources cited by Page Six. “Suspect was identified as Selma Blair … she was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation,” the sources said. Two flight attendants reported injuries, one of whom was also taken to the hospital, and the FBI is investigating the incident.

Assault charges and an ‘unruly behavior’ rebuke

Blair, 54, was charged with two federal assault counts for allegedly attacking the flight attendants, a police officer and a nurse at the hospital, Page Six confirmed. Her representative told the outlet that the actress “experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct” and is currently in “stable condition.”

In an exclusive statement to Page Six, Delta Airlines blasted Blair for her “unruly” behavior during the flight. “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” a spokesperson said Monday, adding that the flight landed ahead of schedule and law enforcement responded upon arrival. TMZ also obtained audio of Blair screaming after she was removed from the plane.

The incident echoes a similar episode in 2016, when the “Hellboy” actress was removed by stretcher after an outburst on a flight. Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in August 2018 and said last year she was “truly in remission” from the chronic autoimmune condition.
