Trump Heads to Corinth, Mississippi, to Rally for Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith Before the Midterms
President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak Monday evening in Corinth, Mississippi, in support of Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, whose Senate race has drawn backing from national figures on both sides in the final week before the November 3 midterms.
President Donald Trump is set to speak Monday evening at a Republican campaign event in Corinth, Mississippi, in support of Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. Trump is touring to drum up support for Republican candidates across the country ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

The rally is scheduled for Crossroads Arena in Corinth. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Central time, the program begins at 4:30 p.m., and remarks are scheduled for 6 p.m. Central, according to the Clarion Ledger. People who want to attend must register in advance, with a limit of four tickets per sign-up, and a registration is not complete until the person replies to a confirmation text.
In Mississippi, Hyde-Smith faces Democrat Scott Colom and Independent Ty Pinkins. Trump was in Michigan on Sunday to support Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers, who faces Democrat Abdul El-Sayed in a tight race, SRN News reported. Trump had earlier campaigned in Kentucky and Tennessee, according to the Clarion Ledger.
Mississippi does not have early voting, but residents can cast absentee ballots at a circuit clerk’s office from now until Saturday, October 31. Offices are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 31, according to the Mississippi Secretary of State’s website as reported by the Clarion Ledger.
A tighter race in a Republican state

Mississippi has long voted Republican, and Trump won the state in 2024 with more than 60% of the vote, the Clarion Ledger reported. But polling cited by the paper shows the Senate race has grown more competitive. SRN News reported that polling shows the race between Hyde-Smith and Colom becoming more competitive.
Civiqs data as of October 21 put Trump’s approval in Mississippi underwater, with 41% of respondents supporting the president and 52% disapproving, the Clarion Ledger reported. That is a record low for the state across both of his terms. The paper cited the Iran war, cost of living concerns and high gas prices as factors behind the low ratings.
National polls released October 21 showed a similar picture. A New York Times/Siena University poll put Trump’s approval at 34%, and a CNN/SSRS poll put it at 32%. A Fox News poll conducted October 9-12 put it at 36%. Among Republicans, approval stood at 76%, down from 92% in March 2025, according to the Clarion Ledger.
National figures line up on both sides

Colom has drawn support from high-ranking Democrats. Former President Barack Obama released an ad supporting Colom, and Senators Cory Booker of New Jersey and Raphael Warnock of Georgia have held campaign events with him, the Clarion Ledger reported. Hyde-Smith, who Trump endorsed as “100% MAGA,” has aligned herself closely with the president since her first election, the paper reported.
Trump’s schedule on Monday included closed-press policy meetings in the morning and early afternoon and a 1:30 p.m. meeting with Charles Kushner, the U.S. ambassador to France and Monaco, before his departure for Mississippi, according to Roll Call’s tracking of the White House schedule as reported by the Clarion Ledger.
