Oregon Receiver Evan Stewart Booked on DUII Charge After Ducks’ Win Over Nebraska
Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart, the Ducks' leading pass catcher, was booked on a DUII charge by Springfield police early Sunday and later released to a teammate.
Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart was booked on a DUII charge by the Springfield Police Department early Sunday, hours after the Ducks beat Nebraska 17-14 without him on the field.
Officers picked Stewart up in the early hours of Sunday morning and booked him at 7 a.m. before releasing him to teammate Dakorien Moore, according to Ducks Wire, citing sources. KATU News first reported the story early Monday morning.

The arrest was separate from a high-speed pursuit in Springfield on Sunday that set off rumors of a street-racing incident involving Oregon players. Ducks Wire confirmed with the Springfield Police Department that the drivers in the pursuit were unidentified and that police had no reason to connect them to the university football team. Several team members were contacted because they were in the area, but none faced charges, and police said the pursuit was unrelated to Stewart’s DUII arrest.
Ducks’ leading receiver sidelined by injury
Stewart did not play in Saturday’s 17-14 win over Nebraska after being ruled out with an injury. Through the season’s first six games he has been Oregon’s leading receiver, with 27 catches for 352 yards and four touchdowns.

The arrest came one day after Oregon’s narrow home win kept its season on track with its top pass catcher already out of the lineup.
