Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury, the team confirmed Friday, ruling him out for Sunday’s game at Cleveland.

Tyler Huntley, 28, will start under center when the Ravens (4-1) visit their AFC North rival, the Browns (3-2), on Sunday.

Jackson has not practiced since Week 4

Jackson has not practiced since he sustained the injury late in the first half of Baltimore’s Week 4 win against the Tennessee Titans. Earlier this week, head coach Jesse Minter said the two-time NFL MVP remains “definitely day-to-day.”

“To Lamar’s credit, he’s working his butt off,” Minter said Wednesday. “He’s doing everything he can to be out here. And when he’s able to be, he will.”

The team has not announced a return date beyond ruling him out for this week, according to Ravens Wire.

Huntley earned his second straight start

Huntley made a strong case for the call-up last Sunday at Atlanta, completing 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. His 1-yard touchdown run in overtime gave Baltimore a 30-23 win, its third straight.

Through four games this season, Jackson, 29, has completed 70.8 percent of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception. He has also rushed for 144 yards and one score.

A tight division race

Baltimore will need another productive outing from its backup to protect its division lead. The Ravens enter one game ahead of the 3-2 Browns: a win would open a two-game gap, while a loss would pull the teams level and give Cleveland the early head-to-head advantage, according to Ravens Wire.

The Ravens will also be without center Cam Jurgens, who is in the concussion protocol after his trade from Philadelphia, and tight end Matthew Hibner, who was ruled out with a hand injury.
