Russian Overnight Strike on Kyiv Kills Woman, Damages Subway Station and Residential Tower
A Russian air strike hit a Kyiv subway station and damaged a 25-storey apartment building overnight, killing a woman and injuring three others, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Moscow called it a "massive strike" on military-industrial targets.
A Russian air strike on Kyiv overnight killed a woman and hit a subway station on the capital’s left bank while damaging a 25-storey residential building, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram on Monday.
The attack also damaged non-residential buildings and a medical facility, and three other people in the city were injured, Klitschko said. A Reuters witness heard explosions in Kyiv during the attack.

Moscow calls it a “massive strike”
The Russian Defence Ministry said on Monday that its forces had carried out a “massive strike” on Kyiv and the surrounding region. The ministry said the targets were military-industrial facilities, storage sites for cruise missiles and drones, and data centres. Russia’s claims about the targets could not be independently verified.

U.S. intelligence sharing resumes
The strike came as Ukraine said the United States had resumed sharing critical intelligence to help Kyiv defend against Russian missile strikes after a brief pause. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the intelligence provides warning of the fast-moving missiles Moscow has fired in waves.

Zelenskiy said he had spoken with U.S. peace envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner after the two visited Kyiv earlier this month, as the U.S. administration tries to mediate an end to the war Russia started by invading Ukraine in 2022.
