ATLANTA — The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 4-1 in Game 4 on Wednesday night to win their National League Division Series three games to one and advance to the National League Championship Series.

The win keeps Los Angeles on course in its bid for a third straight World Series title. Next up is Milwaukee, which also advanced on Wednesday, in an NLCS rematch scheduled to begin Sunday, according to the New York Post.

Pages breaks the tie in the seventh

The game was tied 1-1 into the seventh inning, with Atlanta right-hander Tyler Mahle holding Los Angeles to one run. After Mahle was lifted following a one-out single, reliever Didier Fuentes recorded the second out but issued two walks to load the bases, according to the New York Post and MLB Trade Rumors.

Andy Pages then delivered a two-run single that put Los Angeles ahead for good. Pages, who had been dropped to ninth in the batting order after a slow start to the series, came through after manager Dave Roberts had publicly kept him in the lineup, according to MLB Trade Rumors. Max Muncy added an insurance home run in the ninth inning, according to the New York Post.

Early scoring, then pitching takes over

Atlanta scored first in the opening inning, when Michael Harris II singled, stole second and came home on a wild pitch by Tyler Glasnow, according to the New York Post. Los Angeles tied the game in the second after Shohei Ohtani walked, advanced around the bases and scored following a defensive misplay in shallow left field, according to the New York Post.

Glasnow worked 4 2/3 innings and issued five walks but allowed no further runs, and the Dodgers’ bullpen held Atlanta scoreless the rest of the way, according to the New York Post.
