MUMBAI — Three armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on a car carrying Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu neighborhood on Sunday evening, October 18. Police confirmed that Shroff was not hurt, but his driver and one civilian were injured in the attack.

The shooting took place near Pushpa Park, an area that falls under the limits of the Juhu police station, according to the Telangana Tribune. Shroff was leaving after a football game or practice session, and a crowd had gathered at the spot. The three assailants fired three to four rounds at the car before fleeing.

The two injured men, Shroff’s driver and a civilian described in some reports as an auto-rickshaw driver, were rushed to a hospital and admitted for treatment, police said. Police have launched a manhunt and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the motorcycle and the men on it.

Unverified claim of responsibility

Social media posts attributed to Anil Pandit, who is linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi group, claimed responsibility for the attack, the Telangana Tribune reported. The posts cited earlier warnings and Shroff’s professional association with actor Salman Khan.

Police have not verified the claims, and the investigation is continuing. An audio recording circulating online, in which a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit claimed to speak for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, also reportedly contained threats directed at others in the Mumbai film industry who work with Khan, according to Power Corridors. The recording’s authenticity has not been independently established, and the alleged gang connection should be treated as an unverified claim, not a confirmed police finding.

History of threats against Bollywood figures

The shooting comes against the backdrop of previous threats and shooting incidents linked to the Bishnoi gang’s feud with Salman Khan, Power Corridors reported. In February 2026, a shooting outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence brought renewed attention to threats against Bollywood personalities.

Who opened fire at Shroff’s car, whether the actor was deliberately targeted, and whether the audio recording represents a genuine claim of responsibility or an attempt to exploit the incident remain unanswered, police said. The investigation will need to establish those facts before responsibility can be attributed.
