Kansas City drove to the Denver 1-yard line in the final minute, but a false-start penalty pushed the Chiefs back, and on fourth down with four seconds left, Malcolm Roach sacked Patrick Mahomes for a 6-yard loss to end the game.

Mahomes finished 30 of 41 for 321 yards and three touchdowns, including an 11-yard pass to Rashee Rice and a 73-yard pass to Emmett Johnson. Nix finished 20 of 32 for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Coleman ran 11 times for 41 yards and caught four passes for 63 yards.

Kansas City, which entered the game 5-1, fell to 5-2. Denver safety Brandon Jones was ruled out during the game with a hamstring injury, according to Broncos Wire.
